My Way of Thinking
Is my way of thinking bringing success? We often hear how “mindset” is critical for getting you where you want to go. When we’re in business, we need to ask ourselves, “Is my way of thinking aligned for success?
Just like Pavlov’s dog, we are conditioned. Is it for success? We all want that piece of kibble, at the end of the day that will bring success.
So, my query begins with this… does every aspect of my business need to be conditioned, or a conditioned response, for growth?
Discipline and focus is needed when working our systems (conditioned). However, to maintain creatively and that “thinking out of the box” attitude…are we giving ourselves enough time to just ponder other possibilities?
After reading an article on, The Butterfly Effect on Thinking, I began to wonder, if I was taking into account those things, like unpredictability, that just happened to pass my way. Perhaps an unpredictable word, or idea, spoken by someone who resonated with me; a concept that brought a new view to what I was doing. Are we taking those ideas that others pass to us, and let those magnificent ideas develop into others, which develop into others, which develop into others ? It may all come about because of one different element that started a spark. A spark which lead to another thought, which lead to another idea, which lead to another system, and another way of doing things. Idea built upon idea…concept built upon concept.
One different element introduced into my way of thinking could take me from 211 degrees to that 212 degree boiling point.
And then… I’m on fire! What a great possibility!
Great men like Thomas Edison who would have had to use both a conditioned thought process, and unpredictability, in getting his experiments to come to fruition. In Edison’s case, (the light bulb) his conditioned thinking led him to knowing what worked in parts of his experiments, because they were tested (a good system). In furthering his attempts for success with his light bulb…he had to bring possibility thinking into the equation.
Am I taking those creative ideas and using them in my business?
So I’m asking myself, “Is my way of thinking, broad enough to bring creativity to the equation?”
