In Network Marketing, overcoming fear is a challenge that many of us face.
The first step you have to take in overcoming fear it to realize that fear is:
F = False
E = Evidence
A = Appearing
R = Real
Even though we know this, some of us want to hide in our shells, and we let this get in our way of accomplishing what we want in business. We have fears of connecting with others, fear of failure, fear of prospecting, fear of success. You name it, there is every kind of fear under the sun.
We have to become great at overcoming fear.
International Success Coach, Jamie Barclay, asked this question tonight on a training call, “What is the biggest fear that you have? Is it picking up the phone? Begin to understand what your fear is. Fears are not real unless you design it in your conscious thoughts.”
Jamie went on to tell us how at one point he had a fear of something, and a friend asked him to go skydiving, he was apprehensive, but went anyway. To make a long story short, Jamie’s fears disappeared when he jump out of the plane. He said that jumping out of this plane was the most liberating feeling in his life. He could see the ocean, the clouds, and his friend who had jumped prior to him. Once he made the jump, the fears were gone.
Again, False evidence appearing real, gone.
So Jamie asked, and encouraged us:
- “What is holding you back?
- Start observing the positive things happening in your lives.
- Put yourself outside of your comfort zone.
- What can you do in the next week to blow the lid off of this thing?
- Come back to your business…your fear is not real.”
So, we need to jump off of that precipice of fear, and blow the lids off of our businessnes!
