Do You Have a Support System?
Life in general will point out with every move you take, you need someone to have your back. We don’t live all to ourselves, or for ourselves. There are those in our lives that we need for support. We need friends to laugh with, console us, to educate us, walk with us when times are hard, and just generally be there. What would life be without these people? Not a very good life at all.
Even computer systems have back up systems, hard drives and power surge protectors. Who do you have when you’re about ready to blow a fuse?
When troubled, feeling alone and just in need of someone to talk with, in business and in life, do you have a go to person?
Do you have a support system?
Let’s use the example of war. In times of war, you have people on the front line quadrant. They are the ones that you count on to hold off the advancing forces (those things that are causing your concern in life or business). There are also those back-end units ready to be deployed if your front line can’t fully function.
Are you increasing the ranks around you, and are they ready to go on a moment’s notice in full dress uniform?
I do have this in my life and I would like to tell you about them.
My support system for my personal and business life are my 3 Cord Sisters.
We get this name from this verse:
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
I have 3-4 front line women who are ready to go when I need them (and I’m there for them, also)!
These are my top three… Cathy (my friend from grade school/high school), Rita (my cousin), Jamie (my daughter). When I have a concern in life, and/or business, I can go to either of these 3 and they will counsel me. They will tell me what needs to be done to improve my personal and/or business directive.
I also have my back-end battalions that I rely on. As more and more stands of our cords are being added, I am being strengthened and educated (and so are they).
You not only need this support system, you must have people who are skilled and knowledgeable to be worthy of this position. Not every one may join your squadron. Only those that you trust and resonate with.
As my friend tells me,
“A heart to heart connection with people may sometimes come naturally, but it is usually developed over time after a level of trust has been created.”
~Cathy- 3 Cord Sister
So my question for you is…Do You Have a Support System in place to weather all storms?
