During a discussion this week, I had someone suggest to be me that I might be
The first thing I tried to do was absorb what this person was saying. I knew that they weren’t trying to attack me. They were trying to raise my level of critical thinking. And at the same time, I was trying not to be offended.
I talked with my son about it. He gave me his thoughts.
“I understand, Mom. I agree. This is what you should do…”
(Of course he agrees with me, he thinks my kind of thoughts.)
So for a day, I had this thought spinning around in my head that I might be narrow-minded (?)!
Me? Was this conceivable?
Then it hit me!
I am NARROW- MINDED!
- My mind is on the narrow path, because great is the path that leads to destruction.
A racehorse has blinders on so that he can focus on his narrow path.
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line (another narrow path).
You are told to have tunnel vision when you focus on a goal (a straight line to your goal.)
I do agree with what this person’s concept is… you have to test your thoughts for critical thinking. You have to question what you are thinking, to understand why you are thinking it. This makes your idea solid in your mind. Proven (to you; maybe not to others, but don’t sweat it)!
So, in the process of testing my thoughts, I decided narrow-minded– maybe… not a bad thing.
