I’m Your Intuition. Are You Listening?

I’m Your Intuition. Are You Listening?

The Wisdom of Your Inner Voice

Have you ever gotten this gut feeling, or heard this “little inner voice” that says, “I’m your intuition.  Are you listening?

Society doesn’t always look fondly at us listening to a “little inner voice,”  so many times we brush it aside.

Not a good thing to do, Grasshopper…

Each of us has this innate sense placed inside of us for a reason. Intuition is your “personal radar” for life. We all need to work on our “personal radar” for maximum benefit.  If you aren’t in touch with your intuition, you may have to learn to develop it.

How Do You Develop Your Intuition?

I personally feel that getting quiet, and learning to trust your instincts helps.  There’s a place, an essence, in those quiet times when you open yourself up to the world around you, and start listening to what you heart is saying.

When you get in tune with the wisdom of your inner voice, and trust your gut, you may keep yourself from going in the wrong direction.

I will use an example from my life.  When my daughter was about 9 (she’s 30 now), I let her go to the lake with some friends.  For some reason (a call from God perhaps), I had this urgent need to pray for her.  I don’t know why…but this nagging voice persuaded me to pray, and ask for divine protection for her.  When she came home from the lake, I learned that she had almost drowned, and a 16-year-old girl had saved her.

I was astounded, but thankful that I had listened, and had prayed for her.  Of course, I was also very thankful for the 16-year-old girl who was listening to her intuition, also!

Many mothers have recalled circumstances like this when they have felt their children were in danger.  My only explanation is God nudged me to pray.  We do have this inner voice that leads us.  He gave it to us.  So…

Why do we ignore that call that says, “I’m Your Intuition. Are You Listening?”

It’s just like your mother asking….

“Do You Hear Me?  Are You Listening?”

And when we hear it all the time, many times, though we love our mothers, when they repeatedly tell us things…we tune them out.   We need to listen.

(Sorry, Moms.  We’ll listen next time.)

Wikipedia describes your intuition like this:

Intuition is the ability to acquire knowledge without inference and/or the use of reason.”

Carl Jung defined intuition as

“perception via the unconscious”: using sense-perception only as a starting point, to bring forth ideas, images, possibilities, ways out of a blocked situation, by a process that is mostly unconscious.

In life, and in business, our intuition plays an important role in our success.  So what else can we do?  Read about intuition.  Study your own reactions to your gut feelings.  Get quiet and really hear your inner voice at work so that your recognize it.

Then when you hear,  “I’m your intuition. Are you listening?”  You will be listening!

Start here and then look for other resources on “intuition.”

  1. Hi BG
Hey there, I like what you’ve done to your blog! Looks great!

I think part of that radar is being sensitive to “non-verbal” communication which is 90% of all communication. We as women are so much better at that than me…agree?

We can walk into a room and tell who’s feeling comfortable and who’s mad at who, who’s not feeling well and if the couple over there is getting along and if he’s cheating on her.. right?
I try to go to women doctor’s now because they are much more in tune with what could be going on physically.

There is another part of the intuition that is as you say perceptive to things from a distance. I have had this happen to me many times…you just know something is wrong and later you may get a phone call verifying what it was.

How many times have you been thinking of someone you haven’t talked to in a while and reach for the phone just to have it ring and that person is calling you!

I love this subject and definitely “Know” there is a thread that connects us all. If you are close to someone that thread is strong and you can pick up on the emotions coming from that loved one especially strong emotions of distress.

I do believe you can train this perceptive ability.
Thank you for the resources you have provided here.

    1. Hi Tonya,

I agree whole heartedly. We always have our sensors on and are comprehending what we are sensing. I also believe that it seems women have this down a bit better, for the most part. One of the great gifts that we’ve been blessed with. Thanks so much for commenting and stopping by, and for you comments on the looks of my site. Much appreciated as always.
