When you’re going for the ride of your life, and have been thrown from your horse, stampeded by others, and thought you were completely broken, are you able to get back on your horse and say “Giddy Up?”
It’s the “getting back up” that’s going to keep you moving toward your dream. That’s not to say that you won’t have to maneuver hurdles, or jump a few fences. That’s just a part of everyone’s journey…learning to overcome.
From recent days we can look at the thousands in our country who have been knocked off their horses by tornadoes and floods, lost their loved ones, lost their homes, and all their belongings…yet these folks have found a fighting spirit within them to get back on their horses because their ride isn’t over yet.
Through all the devastation these mustang-like personalities find a way to lift themselves from the ashes.
Tragedy is not what they wanted in their lives, but they look around and find the courage to move on. They rebuild their dreams for their families, and make choices to choose their own destinies.
Are we doing that for ourselves? Are we getting back up, and rising above, to create the lives that we choose?
What will it take for us to acquire that “mustang-like” constitution and say “Giddy Up,” when we feel lost and broken?
A decision to proceed. A decision to find a way.
Make a decision to be like a mustang …agile, alert, hardy, sensible, with high endurance.
Each day these surviving folks are making a decision to move forward. Most of us have circumstances less crucial, less body numbing, and less mind-blowing.
When things go wrong, learn to get back up. Your ride isn’t over yet.
Acquire that mustang-like resilience.
Get up… Giddy Up!
