We’ve all been surprised at times by an attitude, a thought, or even a jealous streak that appears, and we wonder, where did that come from?
If we’re not diligent with checking our thoughts (and our hearts), then those random negative things may embed themselves into our lives, and just like a tick, once it’s embedded it’s harder to get out.
That’s why feeding your mind with positive mental food, like quotes, books, theories, and, for me, prayer, is crucial to keep us moving in the right direction. When you fill yourself up with good things, good thoughts and positive attitudes, that’s what comes spilling out of your cup that is overflowing with good.
If thoughts are not good, they may appear like this-
- evil eyes (if looks could kill)
- negative thoughts (hateful thoughts can turn to hateful actions)
- bitter words (bitter words bite like a snake, and once the poison is out, you can’t take it back)
Let’s concentrate on the positive, and if a negative comes out, try to figure out where it came from so that it can be corrected.
“Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.”
O.K., I looked this up and found a few different meanings, but I’m using this particular definition for the purpose of this post.
Did you know that one definition for the term O.K. was used as a symbol in US wars meaning O Killed? When men came home from the battlefields they carried signs stating OK- 0 Killed meaning that things were OK… or all is correct… no men from this branch were killed. (There were other definitions, but now we know where this one came from.)
So, when working and trying to move forward in our businesses and life, it may be a good thing to check your thoughts to make sure that they are OK… (O “positive thoughts” killed) or all is correct.
Taking notice, and figuring out why the negative is creeping in can help your prevent it from happening. Taking consistent action to fill up your thought life with encouraging words, and optimistic views, can help eliminate negative forces when they randomly attack.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
So, When that random negative thought pops into your head, and you wonder “Where did that come from,” you have the tools to stop it dead in it’s tracks… and then all will be OK (0 “positive thoughts” killed) and you can move on.
Ok? OK! Now, where did that come from?
