I’m writing this today to give you a glimpse of an idea I call the bread crumb effect.
If you think of those foods you love to eat, meatloaf, salmon patties, cornbread stuffing, you’ll realize that the thing that binds them is the bread crumbs (and egg), and from this comes my post on the bread crumb effect.
Binders are things that connect, unite, and/or solidify.
I love picking up crumbs of inspiration, also to sweeten the pot of life.
This crumb of inspiration united a country.
“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”
~John Fitzgerald Kennedy
What do we think of when we put unite and crumbs together?
ANTS! And many of them may come from here…
San “Ant” onio (we do live in South Texas.)
So, what does this have to do with your home based business? A few different things.
First we’ll look at the ant themselves. Ants are persistent, hardy and lead themselves, while helping others. This Bible verse shows you how by studying them we can benefit.
“Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.”
Ants are one of the most optimistic creatures on earth. How do I know this?
Do ants stop working when it rains? No.
Do they hide their heads under the covers when they fail to find food the first time? NO!
They keep moving. They keep working… and they never give up! They “KNOW” and they “BELIEVE” that there are other crumbs around the next corner (or in my case, on my counter.)
What else can we learn from the bread crumb effect?
Bread crumbs can solidify.
Let’s use the example of meatloaf… Meat loaf falls apart and will not bind until you add the bread crumbs to solidify, and connect it to the rest of the meat and vegetables.
That’s the same thing in life and business.
We need those binders to make us strong, and connect us to others.
It’s those bread crumbs of inspiration that draw us to others, which in turn helps us to unite the group, and make us stronger. This is our support system in life and business.
When throwing out bread crumbs of inspiration, add love, and a little extra “sugar.” Don’t hesitate to sweeten your pots.
Crumbs in business can do different things:
•help develop yourself as a leader
•find those persistent souls you want on your team
•develop your team to lead, and inspire each other
•learn the best marketing strategies for your business.
